Certified Public Accountant Short Form is CPA
The short form of Certified Public Accountant is CPA. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has introduced this designation for those people who have passed the Uniform CPA Examination and meet the education and experience requirements. CPA has another equivalent degree program in other parts of the world that is called Charted Accountant (CA). These programs provide uniform accounting standards.
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, and business administration is the main prerequisite with 2 years of work experience in the field of accounting. CPAs must pass the specified course but their requirements may vary from state to state. The roles of CPAs are different in various fields and they can fulfil their requirements and they can hold executive positions in the company like Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) or controllers. CPAs can work in various accounting areas like managerial accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, forensic accounting, and information technology.
