SPPU stands for Savitribai Phule Pune University. The former name of SPPU is the University of Poona. It was established in 1949 as a collegiate public state university located in the city of Pune, India. This university spread almost 411 acres (1.66 km2) campus in the neighbourhood of Ganeshkhind.
