While the term artificial intelligence is often used to describe a computer’s ability to think and act like humans, there are many misconceptions about what it actually means. In another way, Artificial intelligence is a term used to describe machines that are capable of performing tasks and making decisions in the same way as humans. It’s an area of study which has been around since the 1950s. This technology is quickly becoming more prevalent across multiple industries. 

Artificial Intelligence can be simply defined as ‘the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence.’ However, this definition doesn’t even scratch the surface when it comes to understanding what artificial intelligence really is. From self-driving cars, virtual assistants like Siri or Alexa, and automated language translation software; are all examples of AI in our daily lives. So next time you hear someone say AI, ask them what they mean by that because chances are you’ll find out something new!

Artificial intelligence can be broken down into three categories: weak, strong, and superintelligence. Weak AI refers to systems that use preprogrammed algorithms for decision-making; these algorithms do not learn from their mistakes or adapt to new information.

Strong AI capabilities include things like facial recognition software or natural language processing that relies on machine learning techniques such as deep neural networks or reinforcement learning; this type of artificial intelligence can make adjustments based on changing conditions.

Superintelligence is the combination of both, a machine that can learn from its surroundings and make decisions based on existing data rather than pre-programmed information.

The future of Artificial Intelligence

When it comes to what’s next for AI. I like to keep an eye on the emerging technologies that are currently being developed. This year IBM launched an AI that can learn on the job at a chip manufacturing company called TUMX. While some are questioning the consequences of giving robots the ability to think for themselves, others are looking at AI as an investment that will better our futures. One way or another, AI is here to stay, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it will impact the way we live.
