DRDO stands for Defence Research and Development Organisation and purpose of this organisation is research and development for the defence forces of India. It is an agency of Government of India and its headquarters in New Delhi. This organisation came into existence after the merging of two other organisations. 1st organisation which was merged is Technical Development Establishment and the 2nd organisation was Directorate of Technical Development and Production of the Indian Ordnance Factories with the Defence Science Organisation. DRDO was established in 1958 and governed by the Ministery of Defence of Indian Government. It has more than 56 laboratories on his panel.
DRDO is working on many disciplines like aeronautical, armaments, electronics, land combat engineering, life sciences, material, missiles, and naval systems. This organization is India’s largest organization with more than 5000 scientists on his panel.
